Play Mapper v1.066  (2005)

PlayMapper is a simple to use, but very powerful map editor created in PlayBasic for PlayBasic. My goal for creating this editor was to bring 2D map editing tools up to speed with their 3D counterparts.

PlayMapper includes features like:

  • Profile support
  • A Simple to read file format
  • A Map Loader Library
  • An Animated Tile Editor
  • Brushes
  • Transparent profile saving

Fountain of Fuzz  (2003)

This is pretty much the first screensaver I created using C++ and OpenGL. While it was written when I was learning the basics of C++/OpenGL, it's quite complex and is great fun to watch.

Every so often, a bunch of randomly coloured fuzzy balls explode from the middle of the screen in a circle, and start moving away from the center. They eventually run out of steam and go away only to be recreated and do their routine all over again, keeping the fuzzy fountain living forever.

The Blob  (2003)

Here's another screensaver created using C++ and OpenGL. This took me two days to make and was quite simple to program, but the effect is rather cool.

There is one "blob" in the middle of the screen, and it starts stretching itself in different directions while changing colours at the same time. The shape and colour transitions are smooth so you'll never see a jagged edge or a sudden change in colour.

This was a fun one to make, mostly because of all the experimenting I did with the different effects.
